I use GU10 socket spotlight LEDs with T5s, I like the shimmer effect with the LEDs but the colour temperature isn't brilliant thats why I have T5s aswell.

Interesting. Yamaha motorcycles were only available in japan and asia at first, and now you see them all over the place. Who knows?

If you were talking about the older skyline, it is apples and oranges. To actually be legal here required a lengthy, expensive and aggravating federalization process. The new model is the first that finally jumped through the hoops.

Best bet would be find an online retailer of said product willing to ship internationally.

i did some searching but i haven't found much out.
the best way to get one would be to find the company that makes them and buy one straight from them
problem: it doesn't run on our current/plugs

ill see if i can find anything else but not much yet

I am in Japan and use a 150 MH setup and its pretty awesome. I see the self ballasted bulbs at all the pet stores out here. The specs are they are configured for 100v 50/60 hz due to the dual hz ratings thruout japan. They have a few colors and I cant read kanji so I cannot read manufacturer but my halide is a 100/220V and uses standard 2 prong socket. I use Japanese appliances in home rated at 100v but on base we use 50hz. All my american appiances work well except my shaver buzzez like a madman. Hope this helps. If anyone is interested in any more info about bulbs I will hit the pet store today and find out a little more info.

What would be the best lighting, and cheapest, for a pico reef?

Doesn't run on our plugs but super cheap to have the plug redone.

    On a side note:

Why can't we use Home Depot metal halide lighting again?

It's more cost effective. Is it the UV filtering lenses? Is it the light spectrum? Is it the weatherproofing??? What is it?
The draw of $90 vs $290 is almost unreal.....
