Was redoing some scape today, stumbled upon what looks like a black urchin? Its about an inch big, spikes are pretty thick to be a long spine, it also isn't very round at all and moved pretty fast. It had thin little feeding tentacles like a tuxedo urchin does. If it is an urchin, odds are it will be reef safe?

It is a pencil urchin and they are generally reef safe.

It wont hurt any corals or fish, will wipe out algae though. Both the desireable and undesireable kind.
