somebody asked me a ? and i wasnt sure about part of it. copper in the main tank i know will kill and hurt the inverts and life on the rock. also it will absorb into other stuff to leach out later but will it kill the bacteria itself that the rock and sand hold? i never came across if it kills the bacteria or not.

You know, initially I thought 'no way!'
But then I thought about it and realized that I have used copper in the tank before to treat fish and the tank didn't crash. So some bacteria must survive. Then I found this:

So it seems to support the hunch that some bacteria is resistant, even to copper.
