Keeping empty shells for the hermits helps a little, but I have lost a few snails to hermits as well. They don't seem to bother my dwarf ceriths or my nass. snails.

The hermit crab probably would but if you keep one like this halloween hermit or any hermit for that matter it could kill a few snails but most snails would probably still be fine IME. I had 3 hermits and 3 snails and they usually stayed on the walls. Hermits could never get them until a few weeks later and the snails got pwned lol so yeah keep 1 hermit maybe if i did I'd still have like 2 snails tops

I like hermits!! Snails are kinda lazy. They eat then rest. Hermits just go day and night. Im not too worried about the glass I bought a magneticfloat.I actually have a lot of different hermits, but my favorite are the white leg hermits from Reefs2go.com Home. They are always lurking around on the sand bed looking for something to eat. comical for sure. But I had about 35 snails in my 125 and now im down to two, one of which i have had for six years and he weighs about 1/4 pound.Different strokes!!
