    I have never seen a red legged hermit go for shrooms, I have seen blues eating polyps but that was about it. I belive the polyps were dieing already. here is a link to Wet Web's hermit ID section. Waybe you were sold somthing that wasn't a red. I know I have a few hermits that got mix into my orders

    sorry craig.  umm not sure it was large when i bought it about a year ago.  size of golfball.  is redish in color with red hair on it.  i know it molts about every month.

    I caught mine munching on my start polyp...
    I plucked him off last night only to find him there again!
    My star polyp has a "Hole" now....:cry:

    I had one of the Dardanus Megistos in my 110 and he was about the same size as yours. Very deep red color, hairy, and mine became very aggressive. Long story short he was damaging everything he came into contact with so I banned him to the sump. He stills tries to pinch me when I stick my hands in there. They are a very cool looking crab.

    as long as there is a mouth left on those peices they will regenerate
