    i JUST noticed this brown/orange fuzz growing on my rocks and sand!! my tank has been cycling for 2 weeks. Ammonia fluctuates between .25-1ppm SG is 1.025 temp 78.4 pH 8.2 what is it!!

    Is it fuzzy or just coloration? Diatoms are a natural part of your tanks cycle

    It's most likely diatoms, but if it's getting really thick and fuzzy, it might be golden algae. Either way, you have to ride it out.

    Mine has it to. Saintsfan told me it means my tank is done cycling.

    Yup, its part of the tank cycle. You could throw in a few hermit crabs and snails. It will help.

    Not nessecarily, I mean to the cycle being done. What are your total water parameters nick?
