    What is this red bubble lookin thing coming off of my coral? This coral is a new frag. It is also not opened yet in the past 48hrs. How do I know if it died. I aquamated for 2 hrs.

    That looks exactly like my cabbage coral....But I have never seen it grow on a polyp before. I will see if I can find a pic

    I would cut the zoas off and throw it away. Then move on knowing that if it is bad it cannot spread.

    IMO, it's either a bacterial infection or could be cyno. Brown jelly disease is basically a bacterial infection so it could be that, although it tends to affect lps more. I would try to clean it off with a tooth brush or try blowing it off. If it just comes back, then I would frag off the affected area.

    Its not brown jelly disease. That only effects LPS.
