I would like to start a 10g planted tank! I would like some help to do so!
I would like to know peoples ideal set ups for 10g. I don't care what types of fish.

The only thing I don't want is snails, that leads to my next question. How do people keep snail populations low?

manual removal was the most effective way I found of keeping population under control

at water change time once per week, I would physically remove snails that where easy to get to without damaging any plants , IME very easy to remove from front and side glass panels and also from any broad leaved plants

I never felt they became a problem with this method of control

small fish like tetras would be OK IMO as would a Trio of live bearers/ fancy guppies

Plants straight valis always did ok for me without any fuss, additions, foods, CO2 etc
Elodea Densa is another hardy plant that requires little care

Im thinking something like this, 8 neons/something else? 8 rummynose tetras, 3 cories, and 4 otto cats.

probably to many fish for a 10 gallon tank Quartz

with tropical freshwater you want about 1 inch of fish per gallon - allowing for adult size

maybe 5 neons , pair of guppies or other small species and a pair of corydoras hastatus or other dwarf species of cory ( max 8 - 10 fish really IMO)
this would allow the fish room to grow and also not put to much strain on your filtration system

the bigger the tank, the better your options on community fish will be
