    Thanks Bogie,

Well Metz that some set up a 300 gal.
Can you tell us about your filtration ( bio balls or filter socks, what ? )
600 pnds of LR in a 300 gal. tank hmmmmm, that awefully dense rock and must be packed VERY tightly.

Can you provide some pics of this beast ? You can make a free account at photobucket.com , and copy and pste here in a post that might help quite a bit.

    Wildreef,
Some of the liverock is in sump and refugium.
No bio balls just 2 filter socks washed weekly in cold water only and then to sump with skimmer and then to refugium and gravity fed back to tank.
will work on that photo thing and try posting.

Strange Metz, I really can't think of much else, so get that ground probe in your tank or sump and maybe try again.

One more ? Do you get all your coral from the same LFS? Maybe they get bad stock and/or have a problem within their tank system. Or do you order them online and from where?

Corals come from different places. Phissy's in Columbus,Oh, Reef Systems in Columbus,OH,
    or Gerbers in Dayton,Oh.

I will tell you that a ground probe made more of a difference in my livestock than any other thing I put in my tank.

Thanks to Tangster for insisting everyone needs one!

I would say stray current, if shrooms are closing up that quick. You can keep them living in a five gallon bucket in a window for a week with no issues. If a probe don't help I would guess some type of toxin????

Can you send a sample of your water to a lab and find out if there's a toxin in it? That would be my Thing 1 and Thing 2, testing water and ground probe!

i'd guess stray current also... shrooms can't be killed! i cycled my tank with shrooms in there and they just went ahead and reproduced anyway
