Help me Decide on New Bulbs, Please :)

    So, it's time to get new bulbs. I want a new bulb combination. The ones I have now are keeping everything happy, but they don't really bring out the vibrant colors of the coral. They seem to really wash out greens and blues.

    I need help picking out new bulbs! I want the tank to be really bright and really bring out the color in my tank.

    I need eight bulbs for my Tek 5 system.

    *I currently have 1 fiji purple, 1 6500k daylight, 3 aquablue special and 3 blue plus

    I'm not good w/ bulb combos but the Giesemann Powerchrome Pure Actinic will really bring out the greens and blues in your corals.

    That combo you have there is putting good PAR into the tank. I don't know if I'd change much if it were mine. :)

    What do y'all think of this combo: 5 12k aquablue specials, 2 blue plus and one 75/25?

    Sounds good to me. I don't like the blue look and the 2 12k's and the 75/25 will wash the blue out a bit. That combo will give you good PAR also.

    Hmmmm...
    I thought the aquablue specials were the 12ks and the blue pluses are the actinics with blue. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

    You may want to keep the daylight and try it once you have all of the other bulbs. I notice when diving, at about 10 meters depth which is roughly were most dives occur, that all colors look better when I take a pic with the flash on. The white of the flash really improves all of the colors. At least it does to my eyes. Without a flash everything looks rather blue and drab.
