    Read through some of the lighting threads and yeah, I think we're going to go with the T5s, just waiting for a response from the seller to see what brand of lights they are.

    bahahah this is funny.....my gf is slowly becoming interested in my sw tank...every once and a while i just catch her staring at it.

    That's awesome! My wife was the same way. Used to hate my tank, thought it was a huge waste of time and money. Now I think she's more excited than I am about setting up a bigger tank!

    same as my wife with our tank, she hated fish tanks; now she loves every new addition to our 75 gal

    i agree go slow, and get a test kit; but you can learn a lot from what equipment we all use. I would take a close look at telgar's equipment for future plans

    Never hated fish tanks, just never understood them I guess. You can't cuddle fish. But it's the process of setting them up and making sure that all the variables are going to work together that interests me. And also, since I picked out the lionfish and have watched him since he was introduced to the tank, I guess I'm starting to see how fish can have personality too.

    Since you two are obviously competitive, I would suggest you agree to a fixed and equal budget. You don't want one of you spending thousands and the other spending hundreds. You get my point. Agree that each 20 gal can only cost no more than $XXX depending on your budget. That will challenge you to allocate your resources.

    Just a thought.
