So, my 36 gallon tank has been running for 1 month now and my water has been doing great and i have added some snails and hermit crabs. I have about 26 pounds of live rock and hope to add more soon. Well, today, i was just observing my tank so happy that my first saltwater tank has been going so great, and all of a sudden, I SEE A CLEAR ARMY THINGY.

Its about 1 centimeter tall and has about 5 arms. My guess was that it was an anemone that must have hitchhiked its way into my tank by means of my live rock that i got from a LFS.

I go on google and look up baby anemone up and they look identical. ITS A BABY ANEMONE. So, WHAT SHOULD I DO! I don't have any corals and have only cheap LED lighting made for a FOWLR saltwater tank.

Will it survive? I havent been giving any food yet, so, should i? What do anemones need? And if this anemone has survived so far, will it need anything else?:-/

Look up aptasia and majano. If it's one of those it is a pest anemone and you will want to get rid of it, it will spread and take over the tank fast.

I can almost guarentee its a pest anemone, they are very hardy and can be hard to kill.

yeah, it seems like it might be an aiptasia, yet it is so very small and completely see through, no brown at all. Oh, well, so i'm going to have to kill it?

i forget what they are called, but on a lot of LR there are tiny clear orangish anemone or corals. they are pretty harmless and stay very very small
