    Longboat key is located one hour south of tampa in the gulf across from bradenton and sarasota... "The keys" are located south of Miami and separate the Atlantic ocean from the gulf of mexico.

    My mistake I see now by "the keys" you mean the keys you mentioned earlier not "the keys" as in the ones that are known collectively as "The Keys" (key largo, islamorada, marathon, the lower keys, key west). ;D I'm just waking up and my brain is still in a stupor. Sorry.
