    Where? It's along California Highway 101, half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles - to the mile.

    I missed the intro thing before posting my first thread. Sorry about that. But here I am now to say "Hi"... Hi. :) And give a little intro...

    Well, I don't have a reef aquarium. But I do thoroughly appreciate them and the whole micro-ecosystem aspect with all the elements that have to be balanced and maintained. I'll eventually get one when I have a few bux to burn.

    So why am I here? Because I make stuff - electronic stuff, usually. And I've decided to see what I can do for the reef community, starting with a lighting system based on the popular Arduino microcontroller and the latest tech in high power LEDs. So here I go headlong into the research phase. I'm hoping I can get some input from the experts and the novices with good ideas.

    Hello, Welcome to 3reef.
    I plan to add LEDs to my tanks if for nothing else they can give the shimmer of the MH w/o the initial & ongoing expenses. I may take the plunge and only use LED on one tank just to see how everything fares & if it will work long term....just need to find good ones and build it or find an affordable fixture I like.
