    I've read a couple of interesting articles that said feeding too frequently can cause them to lose their bubble tips.

    There are many articles and studies done on the B aspect of BTA's. Lighting, flow, feeding, whether or not it's hosting, etc.

    My speckled RBTA doesn't display bubbled tips UNLESS I feed it, but then the tips go away by the next day.

    Whomever determines what makes a BTA bubbly, should get the Nobel Peace Prize of reef keeping.

    My flame bubble tip split a long tip ago and since the split both of them have stayed put right next to each other. Both get the same amount of food and the same amount of light, yet one day one will be bubbled...The next day neither of them will be...then the next day the other will be bubbled. The reasoning is beyond me.

    to my knowledge any attempts at explaining why they bubble up or not remains speculation as there is no scientific proof behind any of the theories.

    my orange ones almost never deflate their bubbles

    Regarding the Bubble tips- hence BTA;
    I see pice of others- like one in this tread and think to myself 'that must be a long tip nem- cause there are no bubbles'

    MIne stays pretty much like the pic all the time.
    The whole thing will occassionally shrink up real small- but I try not to worry 'cause it always re-expands, and it rarely does that.

    I realy don't 'feed' mine much at all either- but every week, sometimes two I'll put some NLS pellets in it.

    I too don't know why the bubbles or not, etc.

    Keep the thread and pic going!
