I usually have a soft spot in my heart for gadgets, but I don't see how this is much easier than doing a standard test. You have to do a "null" test, and then another with reagent added, to get a result that isn't accurate enough for reefs.

Is it cheaper per test than the other options? I could see some advantages if it was cheaper than other tests. I run a phos-ban reactor, so I usually test 0 for phos. When I test higher than 0, I know that it is time to swap out my phos-ban. So, really all I would need would be a positive result.

What test do you use to get zero?

Mine came in on Monday. I'm happy with it. I was expecting some really high readings, but was happy to see my tank and topoff water are sitting at 0 on Monday before feeding. After feeding frozen foods on Monday night, Tuesday night showed a reading of .09 and 12 or 13 hours, now on Wednesday morning it's showing 0 again.

I'm pretty comfortable with the results. I tested some tap water 3 times in a row. I saw .36, .36 and .38. It's easy to use and seems accurate.

OK so I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong. But I just can't get a reading from my new Hanna Checker.

This is what I'm am interpreting the instructions to mean
    1) Push button to turn on checker
    2) Wait until C1 is on display and add water sample without reagent
    3) Push button
    4) C2 is displayed and push button again (not changing the sample)
    5) 0.00 is displayed
    6) swap sample with sample that has reagent
    7) push and hold button to get 3 min count down
Problem is I never get 3 min count down it just goes back to C1

Anyone see where I've gone wrong?
