I am starting a new EcoPico. I got dry rock but no sand right now. I was wondering if I should start cycling it. I am only going to do a fish only tank and don't know if I will put sand in or not.

Yes you can but I would suggest adding sand to help with the bio load considering that it is a small tank. You want as much stability in a small tank as possible.

I would get a little sand.

I'm not sure if there are any fish that would fit in a tank that size :-/

I think I will get a zebra goby when my tank is cycled. I have looked them up and they seem more tolerable to hotter water
