Trying to get them 4" or so higher.... Chain and hook isn't cutting it and the wire hanger (forgot the name) is even longer. Does home depot sell something that would work?

Hard to tell with the glare, but are they hanging from a shelf above them, with a bar in front?

    If so, kills my idea.

I used ferrules and steel cable from Home Depot and connected one piece of the cable to both corners of the left side and repeated for the right side. I then bought two shelf brackets that have a spot to hang a rod. The heatsink is connected to the cable which hangs over the rod.

OK thats what I thought what I would do is add two hooks at the same spacing as the eyelets on the lights, then using the chain you have you can pull them up as close to the canopy as you want.

Oh definitely! Those things that the cable is attached to are the ferrules I was talking about. You can buy more of them at Home Depot/Lowes, cut each cable shorter, and then make the loop with the ferrule. You slide the cable in one side, make a loop, slide the cable through other side, and then clamp it shut.

+1, we always called it aircraft cable, you can buy new crimp on ends as Inertiatic said and shorten to any length you wish.
