    Bought my first hammer yesterday. He has not open yet today and I'm alittle worried. Not to sure on what's going on. Any help would be appreciated..

    Hmm he is probably just stressed, he doesn't look too bad looks like he's poppin out a bit, where is he placed in your tank? looks like the middle ish does he have a lot of flow?

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    To me it looks a little mad. What flow and lighting is it under and do you have a current set of parameters.

    No havnt tested my para today. He is in the middle of the tank, (40gal breeder) under 4x T5 HO 36in.

    The lights sit about 10 inch above the water line. I'm using a rio 3100 for my return, split into two outlets, 1 kora 240gph and 1 kora 480 gps PH. Both sit about 6 inch below the water line pointing up to break the water surface.

    Hm Hammers like low to moderate flow and moderate to strong lighting.. sounds like you have him in a decent place I would check your prams

    The lighting is fine then, just wanted to make sure it was not sitting directly under MH.

    By flow I am sorry I meant, is the coral under low, medium or high flow. They will not expend fully if the flow is too strong or weak.

    I would definitely check your parameters including the SG.

    It is still acclimating but IME I usually saw almost fully PE the next day if it was happy.

    Mine took a little while to adjust to my lighting because I have T5 and the LFS was using MH. You might just give it some time to acclimate itself. Specifically the zooxanthellae algae within the hammer needs to adjust.
