Has any one ever tried this? I thought i was winning the war on my Hair Algae but today my tank looks worst. I am hardly feeding my fish, Yellow Tang and COral Beauty. Figured they will eat some hair. I have added crabs and snails and no luck. Replaced my VHOs. Water changes (Ro/Di) I am going to place an order for -

Phosphate Filter Pads - Red/Hair Algae
    150g Jar of PhosBan
PhosBan test kit, not sure if this will show much since i have so much hair eating it up. Will test my filtered water also.

any one have a Lettuce Sea Slug?

My LFS said he is trying to find big Mexican Turbo Snails, over 2" which he said are the best but hard to find in this size.

I just put a pistol shrimp in my tank and he has torn up my hair algae. I'm not sure if this is normal but I wasn't going to complain.

I was under the impression that Yellow Tangs eat macro algae? not micro or hair algae......I have a bristletooth tang that is very good at taking care of the hair algae....I don't know if you can add one tho, they have the same body shape as the yellow...

Big mexican turbos are far easier to find then small ones. Your LFS shouldn't have a problem with finding them, if they're buying from the LA guys.

Yellow tangs don't really do much as far as rock scrubbing goes, their mouth shape doesn't lend to it that well. Bristle tooch is what your looking for, Yellow Eye Kole, Tongan Blue Eye kole, etc.

I was looking at the Yellow Eye Kole but I am worried it would fight my yellow tang. The yellow does eat some hair algae, specially pieces floating buy.

Two tangs are too much for your 65 gallon. Good decision Malachi!

Your yellow would fight the Yellow Eye most definitly.

Lettuce slugs find there way over overflows and powerheads like nothing else :D but are ok for hair algae

Pistols and algae eating, never heard of that.

I would look into getting a Bali Sea Hare, they simply are the best hair algae eaters hands down/
