If your using 10k MH bulbs, maybe try some 14k or 20k's?

    if you want blue
    go 20k mh with actinics

    that will get it blue

honestly myself blue doesn't seem very realistic
i like a cool white color it seems more natural and looks a lot like the reef i dived on
and i think the colors of corals look better

i do know blue light occurs on real reefs just deeper down
and when you start getting that deep in the ocean the vibrant reds, oranges, yellows fade away and everything looks closer to a blue/green/brown color.

anyways i was just kind of babbling on if any of that made sense :)

there are many bulb combos that will give you a bluer light. Higher K bulbs will give you bluer light but also tend to have lower PAR. You can also change out your T5 for bluer light you can try the 22K Aquascience T5s they have a great blue light

As for algae, you really shouldn't experience any bloom. As for price, it depends on the brand, but for a blue bulb probably about $80 each for a double ended bulb. But you could easily spend $100 each or go lower and about $60 each.
