    I got this coral about a week ago and only about 5/8ths of it will actually open up. All my other corals open up perfectly fine except this one. Any suggestions?

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    GSP can be picky like that and stay closed for a good while. I have it stay close for a week or more. BUT first try more flow, blow the detritus off with a turkey baster. Always check water chemistry when in doubt, simple stuff like SG....Trust me you can not really hurt it.

    +1 I have a large colony of GSP and every now and then it has a little fit and closes for a few days. Give it time and follow the advice given. It's a hardy coral for sure​

    mine do the same sometimes all day then when the lights hit the blue cycle they come out. very finicky.
