Should be able to use super glue gel to hold it down. The rubberband will only hold it down in a few spots.

Gel Glue is the best to use blot the mat on a paper towel then cover a patch of a dry rock is best but a toweled area on a wet one will do then just push then into the glue . The band will cause some tissue damage then this can open them up for an infection .

Now I have questions.. LOL will it not adhere itself to the rock if it is rubber banded to the rock? I bought a large rock with the star polyp and half the rock broke away, so I have the main rock on a larger ledge and the polyp hanging onto the rest of the rock. Do I need to super glue it to a rock?

Please don't think I am hijacking the thread.. I'm hoping this goes along with the OP question.

Well when you have to seed 100 ot more at once the rubber band gets old and then the fact that the rubberband can and often times does pinch them or damage them The glue I find is the best way . I have manytimes takes a couple of loose polyops left over and set them in a dab of glue they always took hold that would be hard to do if I rubber banded them down one or two at a time . The Mats when glued can't lift and allow stuff to get unthere either as that will retard the little mat coloney from taking hold..

I see... so my best bet would be to take the polyp out and glue it to another rock, or cut the part that the rock fell apart on and put on another rock?
