I'm happy to say; two months and still no problems with the puffer in the Reef, a messy eater... but dosen't touch any coral :)

I have a GSP but he is in his own tank and it's SG is only at 1.016, he is a little over 2" long.
How big is yours and what is yours acclimated at??
Just wondering incase we can turn his tank into full salt sooner than I thought we could

Cool deal - mine is still doing good too with no issues at all - actually my chromis pick on him when he gets too close to their spot(s)

They acclimate pretty quickly to full marine. You should gradually add salt for a few days to get the correct salinity with no issues IMO

Green spotted puffers are brackish fish by nature. If you slowly increase the SG of the tank they live in, they can become saltwater fish and be tolerant to ~1.024 SG water. :)

Figured I'd update too - still doing great and no issues with coral or aggressiveness at all. Mine is only about 2"L and it seems to grow very slow which is a good thing IMO. I feed it a few ghost shrimp every once in awhile too just to watch it go crazy for them. My chromis are mating and laying eggs all over the tank so they have become very territorial and they chase him every time he comes close to their nests. The puffer doesnt fight back at all either and just goes about it's way!

My last FW tank I had three of these guys in it. As they age they require almost marine quality water and that is what helped me switch over to reef tanks. I gave the puffers to a friend once I started adding corals. Looks like a great addition to your tank, hope all goes will with your addition. :)
