    Depends, what's you calcium now?
Cal, alk, and magnesium should be monitored

More than likely you will not need to dose. IF you are doing water changes with a reef based salt. There will be plenty of what your monti needs just by keeping up with water changes.

I would suggest getting the tests, however. It's good to know where you are with your water parameters.

I just started testing for calcium and alk. Magnesium I have LFS do.
Water changes only keep my calcium in check. My alk and mag I have to dose.
Take a sample to LFS and ask for calcium test. I would ask for all 3 because they'll get mad :)
Once you start testing you can use this to determine how much to dose
