I just got this green birds nest coral. It's the only hard coral(sps or lps) in my 75g tank right now. I have a reef breeder photon light that doesn't go above 50%. I just did a 20% water change and all the parameters are good. When I first got it the polyps stuck out further even at the lfs. So I just moved it to a less brighter and flow area to see if that will help. What do you guys think?

That's not a green birdsnest. I think it's a ponape. Can you provide your water chemistry?

A list of all your water params would help. Alk, calcium, mag, nitrate, phosphate. Do you have an angel fish or any coral nipper? It's a ponape birds nest and a nice piece at that. It will grow extremely fast given the right conditions. Also, do you have any phyto or zooplankton to put in the water column? That could entice polyp extension.

How about temperature, salinity, lighting type, intensity and cycle.

Do you run an ATO? Does your Alk stay consistent or does it fluctuate?

What lighting was used in the store?

I would pick up a mag test kit
with your alk being that low and your cal at 450 your mag probably isn't high enough.
As the others stated there are allot more variables needed.
