This is one of the branches on my birdsnest i was finally able to get a good close up under my actinics. The birdsnest is orange with blue polyps.

So as the title stats does it look like it has good polyp extension or is this normal?

P.S. sorry for the dirty glass, i didnt clean it today :p

Not the greatest extension... but enough to show thats its doing okay.

How much flow is on it? too much flow will limit polyp extension on that birds nest.

ok, just wanted to make sure
i have a vortech mp20 and mj1200 in my tank its also pretty much right in front of the vortech because that's the only spot that i could get it to stay without falling off the rocks

agree with tatted, on birdsnest slow flow will show huge polyp extension strong flow a lot less it also effects the growth, slow flow the branches will be long and thin and not dividing much, stronger flow the branches will stay shorter and branch more often

I have certain sps that require Extreme flow for great polyp extension while others in that same flow have limited polyp extension compared to it being in lower flow.

You do not need that much flow for your birds nest. Yes you want moderate flow but dont blast it with crazy flow. I guarantee if you cut back a little on the flow and have it not being direct... you should see better polyp extension considering water quality is good.

what would you recommend getting to be able to secure it in another spot, maybe i could place it in another spot, but the glue that i have isint strong enough, it worked for my frags, but not with a huge coral like my birdsnest
