Well sometime while i was on youtube i saw a video of a guy feeding his eel with his goldfish. I'm curious though; the goldfish turned from bright orange to like a pinkish purplish color in his gills. Why exactly does that happen? As for the eel eating the goldfish, poor fishy got pwned XD

probably because it was dying from the salt. freshwater fish are made to absorb and keep salt in there body, saltwater fish are made to expel salt.

lol I always think some people must be trying to compensate for something when they do feeding videos like that, with the over sized feeders.

for anyone wondering you shouldn't feed goldfish they create vitamin deficiencies.

we learned about that in school this semester. i know it is called osmotic shock. freshwater and saltwater fish have systems within their bodies which regulate the amounts of salts in their bodies. basically freshwater fish absorb a certain amount of salt, while saltwater excrete it. basically a freshwater fish dumped into seawater has a huge influx of salts into its bodie causing its insides to expand, and the opposite for saltwater fish into freshwater. agreed its wrong and cruel. a marine creature would never naturally get the chance to eat a FRESHWATER goldfish.

It sounds pretty crappy to me. I really don't understand what inspires the cruelty of keeping a tank like that.
