Gluing frags horizontally vs. vertically

    What are your thoughts on this? I've been doing a little reading and it seems like gluing them horizontally allows for more surface area to encrust and for more branching to occur.

    I've heard the same thing and IMO it makes perfect sense. Specially with fast vertical growers. After my tank crash in Jul/aug last year, I want to slowly start back on the sps corals when I make a little more time to take care of all of the parameters diligently and attaching my frags horizontally is definitely the way I will go.

    While it sounds good on paper, I don't believe it matters in the end. I've yet to hear of anyone having problems stemming from the frag being glued vertically, and it's been done that way for many years.
