I think you are overthinking this..JMO. Just do as stated above...drain enough to slide away from wall, and be done!!

Robman, Thanks for your opinion but I already tried that on a 65 Gallon tank and 3 days later the silicone seal cracked and well you know what happened next. Tanks are designed NOT to be moved for any reason. IMO

Dr. Bergeron, any thoughts after I posted the pics on how to get my Refugium in the cabinet. The structure is pretty basic, nothing special up under the corners. If I add the 2x4 it could hold up fine.

GET'R "done !! LOL.. You got it right casey..

Looking at the pictures...I would say that the center piece is not required for structure integrity. IMO.

I also agree with LG on this, if you wanted to take out the center brace right under the horizontal brace in the pic, i'd go for it.

I have seen Melev do it. I have seen the brace method of removing the center brace and using 2x4 temporarily. I have a AGA stand, and had the same problem trying to figure out how to add a refugium. I had a Megaflow sump and even that had to be loaded form the top.

I have no doubt Tangster has done this plenty of times, and I have zero doubts of the advice you are getting. I got the same and trusted it. When it finally came down to it.... I simply didn't have the balls to do it. Just freaked me out. Good luck. Take lots of pics to help out the next guy.
