Hi there i recently added a frogspawn coral (although they siad in my lfs it was a torch coral?)

It has been fine for the past few days but tonight it has totally shut down and i can see the white "skeleton" underneath, although all the tips are still visable and it looks asthough its opening up again??

do these coral open and close?

i had an anemone that did this closing and opening and i was told it was "feeding" by retracting its tentacles, do corals do the same????

please reply with advice im a kinda reef novice!?

Yea, it can do that every once in a while. As long as you can still see the flesh you should be ok. Also, if you actually see the skeleton and not just it retracted, then you should be concerned, but besides that, it's not a big deal, just keep an eye on it.
