    Update

Apparently this is more common then I would have thought...here is another one, (posted later in thread)...different tank, different clam.

And here I was worried about fish nipping clams. :p

Ohh, poor fishy. I always wondered if clams were safe with fish!

Idiot should have known the angel was eating the calm and the hippo was picking off the already tattered/damaged flesh..

That is more common than people think! Have seen a few examples of this happening!
But the weird thing is that I have a Cinnamon Clown that hoovers on and above the mantle of my 6"squamosa with no problems and the clam doesn not close up at all!!! Strange but funny...who knows!

My fish do not pay attention to my clams. My clams close up fast if they sense anything to close.

    Yes you are!

    But I had same feeling:p

Who to blame, the clam or the fish? --- Seems to me a fish should be smarter then that...but so should be the pearl divers we hear about getting trapped by these things. ;D

It was 2 different clams in 2 different tanks. The angel died, and the tang survived. I took the time to read the post on RC.

I'd blame the fish and the person who thought that an angel would be safe in a tank with a clam. Don't know what the heck that hippo was thinking though :)
