How do you guys deal with the unwanted macroalgae that can ride in on new frags? I feel like manual removal isn't always effective and hydrogen peroxide would do too much damage to the corals tissues.

I pluck it off and hope the clean up crew comes and attacks the algae. I will remove the coral from the plug if possible any way and hope that helps also.

Not a bad idea to pull the plug off entirely. Might not be a bad idea to invest in some plugs of my own. That way I could just transfer them over.

Good idea, I like to mount my corals without the plug at all. I use gel superglue to mount them.

agreeds, I acclimate them with the plug but then try to pry them free so I can just put the coral in a nook of liverock instead of seeing plug

Honestly i've thought about just glueing them straight into the rockwork but i'm paranoid that in the future I will need to move my corals to find perfect flow.

Chuck them into the tank and let the tangs and fox face at them. The next day there's not the slightest trace left of any algae.

Which probably works neatly so long as you have tangs and fox faces......
