I know this sort of an odd question, but I have some rather humungous long hairy mushrooms in my tank and I was just wondering out of curiosity if instead of fragging them through the mouth as a typically do. Can you just trim them up? As in keep the mouth intact and cut around the entire circumference making it smaller. I just have one mushroom that is roughly 8-9 inches around and its getting ridiculously close some other corals in my tank and almost touching. I'm pretty sure the answer is yes but I rather be safe than sorry before I start going to town.

Yes, any part of a corallimorph will grow a whole new one.
