frag tank & LED lighting?

    i have seen fixtures up to 1000w on Ebay, plant growing websites etc... Has anyones used thes for frag tanks, how is the growth? i assume the electric bill and heat are alot less.

    I have seen nano cubes that have it as a light source and the corals look good i dont know if it grows as fast thought or if you can do sps

    I would like to know the answer to this as well! Been interested in switching over for a while, but keep deciding the potential savings isn't worth dead/unhealthy algae.

    Be careful, those lights are tuned for plant growth - read ALGAE BLOOM! of course the corals will photosynthesize too.

    Most LED's are not quite in the right spectrum for coral growth and the PAR is still on the weak side. They are one or two generations away for coral usage.
