When I first glanced at thats what I thought it was. The color through me off I thought it was either completely bleached or completely dead but then I actually looked at it and the coloring looked more like this coral. ORA Pearlberry Mini Colony | ORA Corals ....KINDA...And I have been trying to find a picture of a Monti. that actually had the same physical look of this coral. Almost all Montis I have seen don't have all these little bubbley looking things coming off it. They normally have lines or ridges that are farely symetrical. Know what I mean?

if its an acropora it could have been been cut from the base of a purple tip acro... the purple tips will develop as the branches get longer

Thats the onoly thing I could think it would have been if it was actually an acro. The colony must have been pretty huge then if this is only part of the base.

Fairly high growth for a monti ? 2nd guess with be an efflo, but it's going to have to grow a bit to make a better guess.

+1 on the base of a spreading acro. It will start growing up more as you see it starting now.

It you have the lighting go for it. You could end up with an awesome coral.

I should have the lighting. I have a bunch of other acros that are doing well.
