Ok i just put my water, live sand, and about 2 pounds of LR in my new tank. i haven't even added my heaters yet so the water is just room temp. As for my lighting it has not arrived yet so i just have a desk top lamp with a 75 walt light in the sump area.

i some how noticed a very little thing swimming in the refugi area and i have no clue what it is, or how it is alive for that matter.

as for it size, very small. it would be close to a peace pencil lead or the very tip of an ink pin. it also looks to have very small legs maybe 6 or so and small tentacles.

this is my very first tank btw, so any ideas would be great. THANKS

The last pic almost looks like a small shrimp. But I really have no idea what it is, hard to tell from the picks.

i cant really see if but from your description it sounds like a amphipod or some sort..
but thats what i reckon if it is they are harmless little things and at the end of the day become fish food :)
