To all the people who have "true" frag tanks (i.e. a display full of water and frags only, rocks/filtration in the sump), do you put any CuC in the main tank? I am going to be setting up a small grow-out tank shortly, 40B w/ 100 gallon sump and plan on having a couple small fish in the tank. All my rock (50+ Lbs) will go into my sump, along with my skimmer and reactors. I plan on sectioning off where the rock will go, so I can add an array of CuC members...but I am dumbfounded on whether or not to add some snails into the display.

    Thanks in advance!

my buddy that had a frag tank had to put some in. even with no fish and rock only in sump the tank still needed a CUC. not a full size cuc but a handfull of snails and crabs.

Most people hate them, but if it were me, I'd have some blue legs in there and nothing else, just to keep algae off the plugs.

It isn't a rimless aquarium. It is a standard 40 gallon breeder. I've never had a snail crawl out of a tank with a rim.

I love blue legs. They never bother my coral, and are entertaining to watch when they "war" with each other.

Nerite's will. I wouldn't worry about any other though.
