After moving and downsizing I am finally ready to upsize again to a rimless 60 gal cube with external overflow. The tank is being made right now by Planet Aquariums out of Dallas (I hear nothing but great things). I've made a 3D model to get an idea of the system and will update as I get the exact dimensions of the overflow etc to plan.

I'm planning on going for a mixed reef with lots of easy to care for faster growing SPS like plating and encrusting montis. So here's the list of equipment I am considering (some items are running on my current tank):

    Tank and Ligting
    • Planted Aquariums Custom Rimless 60 Gal. Cube (24x24x24) with external overflow (going to run a herbie style drain)
    • Trigger Systems Ruby20c Sump (20x20x15)
    • Maxspect R420R 120W (16000k)*
    • DIY Stand (3/4 in. Plywood, will cover later)
    Flow/Filtration
    • Jebao DC6000
    • 2 Vortech MP10w (already have one)
    • Vertex Omega 130
    • BRS Dual Reactor
    Electronics/Top Off/Dosing
    • Neptune Apex Controller*
    • Tunze Osmolator 3155*
    • BRS Two-Part Dosing*
    • Eheim Jager 200W
    * Already in Current Nano Setup

Really excited about this tank. Can't wait till it comes home.

Sounds like a great setup. I'll be following.

Looks like a great start. How does the overflow attach?

    Thanks!

Thanks! It will look something like this. Although, I think this tank is acrylic.

Agreed. Since I'm going in the smaller side I didn't want any of the overflow hanging into the tank. This gives me the whole area to play with.

I like the design as well. I would probably do something similar in the future.

Sump is in. Bigger than my current setup. That already makes me feel good about this build!
