Hi everyone! I feed my tank mysis and brine shrimp on alternate days. For fish, I have a goby of some kind and a matted filefish. When I first started my tank, I was told to buy Spirulina flake food, which I did. But ever since I started feeding my tank mysis and brine, I havent used the flake food. This is because my LFS never fed the fish flake food, only frozen stuff. I don't want the flake food to go to waste, so I was wondering if I should put some flake food in with the shrimp when I'm defrosting it, or if there's something else I can do with the flake food?

    Thanks!

There is nothing wrong with doing supplemental feedings with quality flake foods! I myself feed my fish an alternate of Ocean Nutrition Formula 2 and Spirulina flakes at least once a week. This is all part of varying their diet. You just wouldn't want to solely feed flakes (IMO). I would start doing regular feedings with it, a couple times a week.

Feed directly, don't add it to the mysis. How old is it?

I'm just worried that if I feed them only flakes in that day, they won't find it/go for it and go hungry :(

If they are hungry, they will find it and eat it. No question about it!

yes, fish also don't need food every single day to survive. Many on here lightly feed or feed every other day to maintain parameters.
