    the reflector is lame but will work, besides just the xm 20k free bulb normally runs $70-80 bucks. and your getting the ballast,wires,socket,reflector too. for $100 budget your not going to get a caddy.. maybe a geo metro. lol but at least it will do the job on your tank and put out alot more light/par then 2x39w t5s. if you want a better mh 250w pendant w/ e-ballast be prepared to spend $250-350 bucks

    if i found a reflector would i be able to buy that kit and replace the reflector?

    also, isnt 20k going to be super blue. to where its like a moonlight??? i want something a bit more daylight-ish.

    you can use any mogul bulb style reflector you want. 10k = white 14k = slight blue 20k = blue. i would stay away from the xm 14k though, par/growth rates arent too good.

    hm. i might even just pass up on this kit. i hate the 20k honestly. so i might as well just not build a hood, the cost of the materials/getting a new bulb will cost the same as just buying a $150 dollar fixture with a different reflector.

    yea if you can save up more money for a better fixture then do that. if not you know your options.
