    I have a 55 gallon tank but it has a metal stand. I have read that you cannot use a metal stand with salt water tanks because it will corrode? Is this true?

    Many have, you will want to make sure to clean up any water spills as quickly as possible to extend the life of the stand but should be fine. You could also build a wood cabinet around the stand to protect it.
