I have been doing some reading about fish and I have noticed that some fish need high light. What? I don't get it. Is this a rule of thumb when collecting?

I'm not aware of any fish that need "high" lighting. What is high lighting and what fish are you talking about?

The fish I am aware of do fine under NO daylight flourescent lighting as that is what LFSs use in their fish only display tanks.

I was reading the specs on the fish that Dr. Forter and Smith sell.

Some fish prefer dim tanks, mainly deep water fish. IMO thats why they put "high lighting" as it's from a brighter area of the reef, not that it needs high lighting.
