I think i have my first case of ick on my McCoskers Flasher Wrasse, on one side he has multiple white spots but the other side doesnt, now im not sure if this is either bite marks from the chromis that's been beating up on him, or if it really is ick.

I have never dealt with ick before if he's acting fine, eating fine, and no other health problems, should i just wait it out?

I had a small outbreak of ich in my tank (clown and damsel). I just left them alone, fed extra to keep their strength up and kept up on water changes. They made it through just fine and I haven't seen the spots back (knock on wood!!).

Pretty much all you can do.
Just try to give em a little extra TLC like Kacy said.

If I were you I'd start feeding every day during the outbreak.

Hey Puff - is this the new wrasse ? just check all the parameters and make sure the tank is in order. If you do not have any order some antibiotics incase te fish does become ill and develops a secondary infection. I always keep Miracyn II on hand. Garlic does help to strengthen a fishes defenses too. Good luck and keep us posted !

Edit - I see you posted when I did....and the new wrasse is not in yet ;-)

Oh okay.I thought you fed 3-4 times a week? I dunno why.

Just keep them eating a lot! And keep the water clean.

Any thing apart from regular feeding will probably do more harm than good. Refrain from trying to QT him, also refrain from putting stuff in and out of the tank. Basically, stuff him with food and keep potentially stressful things to a minimum. :)

    Good Luck

PS I've heard that turning the heat up slightly fastens the ich parasite's life cycle.
