    Today,
Stealing versions of others ideas for my own use as I often do, I used a hose to drain most of my sump water and the detritus builup - into the floor drain in my basement.
It helps to have your sump up on a stand like mine is.

I already had ~20G of SW I just mixed in my mixing container (trash can on wheels) with a Mag 3 and a heater in it.

Pumped that water back into the sump with the same Mag 3, restarted the RP, and done, not a one bucket lifted!
    My back thanks me some.

    Jealousy has set in. :(

I have to be a contortionist to get to the back of my sump to clean out the skimmer cup and every WC is a bucket brigade from my mix station.

You were using buckets? That's like cave man reef keeping, lol. [IMG]

Pro tip: make sure you drain ALL of the water from the hose. If you don't, you will find out why this is important on your next wc.

I'm going to hard plumb in from down stairs so I can just turn a nozzle until someone screams stop and shut it off.

When I was a kid, 'Caveman' was one of my nicknames!

Using a clear hose/tube helps with knowig whats about to come out!

I could just have a drain in the bottom of my sump, but I like the fact I can direct the drain hose end at the various spots of detritus that build up in the sump form time to time.

The last 3 months- I'm finally on a schedule to change about 20% every month.
