Lights are off. Temp is down to 83.9. Making from fresh cool RODI water wil top off. I think the damage is done. I am so upset. I think I have lost most of my soft corals. I use Chemi Pure Elite carbon just wasn't cutting it so the chemi pure for me has been a life saver its about 7 weeks old should I replace with a new unit?

Wouldn't hurt. I'm sure it had been working ot with the high heat. What kind of heater was it by the way?

Chemi Pure Elite is suppose to be good for 6 months but I agree with malac03a13. Change it out has worked harder than normal... Best of luck

My suggestion to run carbon shouldn't be taken lightly... you want to add lots fast. If you have a filter sock, place a good bit in a high flow area... Wal-mart sells carbon if you're out, and they're usually open 24/7. ask me how I know this. ;)

Oh man, that is not good. I don't use heater at all cuz I'm afraid of boiling my tank. I'd rather let it go to 70 when its cold outside 50-55, instead of going to 90.
