    Sorry, I am travelling and don't check the forum often.

    The only picture I have on my computer is of the Hofer gurgle buster. I don't have a picture of the snail guard. I just cut out a piece of Styrofoam and placed on top of the overflow box in the tank (with a hole cut for the u-tube). The Styrofoam also keeps light out of the box, which keeps it clean. I'll take a picture of it with my iphone when I get back home next week.

    I don't think animals small enough to fit between the overflow teeth are much of a concern(my overflow has ~1/4" gap between teeth) . They probably won't be able to lift or block the u-tube. If you are worried about that, just tie a shoe lace or something around the u-tube and overflow. That would make it very secure. I did that on my old tank.

    Ok. Kool. iv seen many pics where the coralline algae grows in the tube. any idea you can suggest on covering it? or can i make a omega shaped cover for it?

    I cover the u-tube and exterior box with a small white towel. Not the most attractive solution, but it was easy. Coralline still grows though, so I usually clean out the u-tube with vinegar every few months.
