I got brain coral couple of days ago and it opened fine right away, but today it seemed retracted and I saw emerald crab nearby, do you think that crab might be the culprit?

It won't do anything unless the brain is sick.

If it is happening often, then it can be the emerald. They sometimes will not be reef safe.

If it only happened this once then it was probably brushed up by something.

all crabs not hermits but actually crabs should not be considered reef safe for the most part when they get hungry thell eat anything

Ur fine. It's still prolly getting used to it. My emeralds don't do anything to my corals. And I see them crawling all over them

the lights look dimmer in the second pic, did your daytime lights go off? if so, then light is likely the cause... some corals will retract with less light.
