I must be out of my ever loving mind. ::) ;D

Look what I just bought. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4367089377 I'm going to ultimately use it as a room divider. I have a great room for a dining room and living room. It has center over flows so I'll be able to view it from both sides. It's a major project, starting with reinforcing the floor and building a custom cabinet. I'll need all the DIY help I can get. Hint Hint... Fortunately, I've built cabinets in the past and the 210 in my office has got me in the swing of plumbing a tank.

Hey, would it make sense to run the plumbing into the basement?

Oh, here is a picture of it. There are more on E-Bay.

Now for the biggo question. Should I turn the 72 bow into a reef and go show on this or loose my mind and make a 300 gal reef? Remember, I've always been a FOWLER guy. This is a big step.

Holy Cow!!! For a reef you would need about 300lb of sand and 600 lb of LR....over 7lbs per gallon of water and you are at over a ton and a half (sump not included)!!!!

You are right....you may need some serious re-inforcement!!! Perhaps put it on the ground floor :)

Oh Yeah! REEF REEF REEF REEF!!!!
Definitely basement plumbing if you can! Imagine, no noisy pumps, skimmers...etc!!!!! Just Joyful quiet reef!!!!

    I am jealous!

I have to see if I can find it, but there was a site that the fellow hid the walls with eggcrate and small rocks and corals tied to it, placing it vertically, and making walls of reef. You could do that around the overflows , say near the top that would show....lemme see if I can find it...

That is the ground floor. The only thing lower is an unfinished basement. ;)

It's a newer house so a few extra 2x12s should do me.

I'll take that as 1 for reef. ;)

Boy, decorating hasn't even crossed my mind. I'm overwhelmed with the prospect of building the beast.

I think that was a Nano tank he had zoo's up and down the eggcrate. It was featured in reefkeeping magazine.

I know the guy you bought the tank off of. He lives in Michigan and was trying to sell it on Michiganreefers.com. I have been drowling over this tank myself but I hate acrylic. Nice buy. If you go reef you better re-finance your home ;D I think it worth it though.

Heres a link to a 300 gallon reef so you can see the potential.

    Wow!
That will keep you busy for a while. :)

I'd probably go Fish only myself unless you are rich. ;D

Plus I'm not sure how to do lighting on that so the acrylic doesn't warp. For example on my 75 show turtle tank I had to switch out a 75 watt bulb for a 50 watt bulb because of warping. Maybe someone has a workaround.

Regardless, I bet you'll have fun with that!
