Dying Coral?????

    It was a gift and I got it like this. It is my first coral and it has green on its base. Is this coral ok and what type is it?

    Looks like a hanmer or frogspawn. Give it some time to settle in; you'll probably find it's polyps out more tomorrow.

    he looks healthy to me, if you have real brite lights i would give him a 45% angle to the lights until he gets settled in, they like a little water movement, just waving in the wind not a storm. loks good and a easy coral once settled:

    Give it sometime to adjust in your aquarium. Provide proper lighting.
